Microsoft in blogging frenzy and online community growth - Symbian and Nokia still pompous, pretentious and backward January 30, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. We have 21st century now, but certain corporations still act like countries in the era of Cold War did! Can you handle this: Microsoft is a modern, open and creative corporation while Nokia and Symbian are old-era outdated organizations populated by pompous people, who think that cell phone industry belongs to them, just because they were making in past majority of the now-defunct cell phones! There are two facts, that prove above claims: newsgroups and blogs. Neither Symbian nor Nokia offer its own USENET newsgroups, but Microsoft does: just take any newsgroup reader (like that one built-in into Outlook Express), add new server: "msnews.microsoft.com", and then search for the word "phone" - you will find plenty of newsgroups about Microsoft powered cell phones, where vast communities of users thrive, help each other, exchange openly ideas, and even get casual help directly from Microsoftīs employees involved in creation of related products. While in Nokia and Symbian for owning a web blog employees can get fired at the best or sued at the worst, at Microsoft literally thousands of employees have their own web blogs, where they even discuss or present some work related stuff! Just imagine: most of these blogs have commenting feature so even YOU can add your own comments there! Below we present a small list of web blogs of Microsoft employees, who are relevant for Microsoft powered cell phones (this list will be expanded in the future, so come here later for more):
If you donīt own Microsoft powered cell phone yet, get one! Yes, get one and join the vast community of users, who are in continuous conversation with each other and with Microsoft. Join the future, now!
