Pocket PC and Smartphone devices from Mitac got high-quality award February 02, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. At the 12th annual Symbol of Excellence awards, the five entrants from the Mio product series (note 3: the Mio 339, Mio 558, Mio 336, Mio 168, and Mio 8390) all received awards, winning the right to display the Symbol of Excellence mark in promotion materials. The Symbol of Excellence award is Taiwan´s highest honor for the design of export products, and signifies recognition of a winning product´s superior quality and R&D innovation. Mitac is particularly proud of the Mio 336 Pocket PC, that has an integrated GPS receiver. Furthermore it looks like Mitac Mio 8390 smartphone is still in an "ucpoming" state: The Mio 8390 is an upcoming smart phone that will use Microsoft´s Windows Mobile™ for Smartphone 2003 operating system, slated for release this year.
