It is official now: Samsung will deliver ROM update for i600 to Smartphone 2003 February 11, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. Smartphone 2003 operating system brings a lot of new features and improvements (click here to see detailed list). While for devices having 16 MB RAM an upgrade to Smartphone 2003, although technically possible, is practically not useful, all smartphones with 32 MB RAM can be easily upgraded to Smartphone 2003. Among Smartphone 2002 powered cellphones Motorola MPx200 and Samsung i600 both have 32 MB RAM... 
... so naturally upgrade to Smartphone 2003 is possible. By now we have heard only speculations about possible upgrades to Smartphone 2003, but now, for Samsung i600 it is now official: An update to Windows Smartphone 2003 will be available at Verizon Wireless retail store locations in early 2004.
