Orange high on ARPU thanks to MS Smartphone
February 12, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

While we were visiting Showcase presentation of Bill Gates during ITU 2003 conference in Switzerland, Bill presented there this chart:

ARPU

... that clearly presents that Microsoft Smartphones (branded by Orange as "SPV" series) have better ARPU than other phones. Now WSJ.com reveals more on this topic:

Orangeīs two most lucrative Signature phones are made by smaller manufacturers -- palmOne Inc. of Milpitas, Calif., and HTC Corp. of Taiwan. Orange didnīt give figures for other handsets, but it said last June that customers using Nokiaīs 7650 high-end camera-phone, which isnīt a Signature device, earned the company €93 a month in revenue on average.

So not only Microsoft smartphones offer better value for end users (excellent integration with Microsoft Exchange and MS Outlook and .NET technology) but also they offer better value for cellular network operators/carriers.
