Samsung again flip-flops about i600 February 17, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. Firstly Samsung announced on its own web site that ROM upgrade to Smartphone 2003 for i600 will be available very soon, then Samsung withdrawn this information. Then Samsung provided web page with several updates for Samsung i600 but now this page is pulled again! (although some updates from this page were indeed working) Samsung informs about the latest flip-flop: We were made aware of the erroneous release of this information. This was not to be posted for general use and therefore has been pulled. We are sorry for the confusion this may have caused and if the item has been downloaded we caution you to delete the file as it may cause damage to your phone. This information is not ready for release and should never have been posted. The information, as stated previously, was posted in error. We are sorry for any inconvenience or confusion this erroneous posting may have caused. Samsung i600 is an expensive (about $600) cell phone without built-in Bluetooth and without built-in camera and the only serious advantage of this phone is, that it is the only MS Smartphone that works in CDMA 1x networks (not compatible with GSM/GPRS). Conclusion: there are no updates for Samsung i600 available and it is not certain whether Samsung i600 will ever get ROM upgrade to Smartphone 2003.
