3GSM 2004 news: free booze from Microsoft February 24, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. Microsoft organized today, in the evening, "invitation only" (see below why do we use quotation marks) party entitled "Microsoft 3GSM Drinks Reception" with plenty of free booze, and snacks. The party was directed at "Analysts and Press" and took place in the "Microsoft Executive Briefing Center" (please notice to the right flags with "Microsoft" logo):
... which in reality was a small wooden house with tent-like roof located on the beach, on the sea, very close to the 3GSM World Congress area. As you can see here:
... people who came there had opportunity to drink booze, eat snacks, drink more booze and also to socialize while drinking booze. When we were leaving this party to go to the hotel, we have noticed fantastic laser and fog based show on the water of sea:
... that presented "Motonext" motive and included 3-dimensional, fog-enhanced, images of various Motorola cell phones, including Motorola MPx100. Laser drawn picture of Motorola MPx100 hovering over sea in the night and enhanced with fog is impressive. The phone itself however is impressive enough without laser and fog effects... Please note: although several people at Microsoft´s stand and elsewhere were ensuring us that this "Drinks Reception" is "invitation only" (meaning: not everybody can come there), we have however noticed, before the entrance to the "press zone", on shelves containing materials for press members, these:
... where on the right side you can see the invitations lying there innocently - ready to be picked by anybody! Since these invitations were lying there before entrance to the press zone, so actually anybody could pick them, not only press members (who are required to show press badge before enterting the press zone), and thus the whole "free booze from MS" party in reality was not "invitation only" as we thought naively at the beginning... but free booze is free booze and nobody should complain but just drink and enjoy it!
