Sagem goes for Microsoft and dumps Symbian February 27, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. Only suicide would go for Symbian nowadays, when it is in the process of being overtaken by Nokia, so another cell phone vendor makes good (for itself) decision and goes for Microsoft software for cell phones: French communications and defence electronics firm Sagem said it would launch 20 new handsets in Europe this year, including its first Microsoft-powered smartphone. Sagem is a well known brand of cell phones, mainly in France (where it is located) and in UK. Apart from regular cell phones Sagem is known from making of specialized measurement cell phones (each costs over 10 000 USD) for professional applications. Sagem lately also took over from Philips the fax branch (all "Philips" branded faxes are now owned by Sagem). How about that: fax receiving and sending ability from Sagemīs Microsoft smartphone?
