Free font installer utility for Microsoft Smartphone 2003 available
March 07, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

People doubted it could be done..... but apparently it really can be done:

Now you can change the default font used in your cell phone powered by Microsoft Smartphone 2003 software (like e200 or Qtek8080, bot not for Motorola MPx200 and not for Samsung i600, that are powered by Smartphone 2002 software).

MoDaCo user, who calls himself Mr Magoo has created little utility that allows to switch font used by standard software of Smartphone 2003 to the font that you like yourself the most! The default font in MS Smartphone is called "Nina" and by now it was impossible to change it. Mr Magoo writes:

New Utility: BlindLemon Font Installer : Enable Fonts (E200)

This utility installs itself into the boot process and enables any font which you place in the Storage\windows\fonts folder for use in homescreens / system fonts etc...

if you want to use a new font in a homescreen you will need to :

1. install this utility
2. copy the font file (e.g. xxx.ttf ) to Storage\windows\fonts
3. edit your homescreen - changing references to font nina to your new font name
4. run this utility
5. change homescreen
if you want to use a new system font you will need to :

1. install this utility
2. copy the font file (e.g. xxx.ttf ) to Storage\windows\fonts
3. edit the registry HKLM\System\GDI\SYSFNT change the value "nm" from nina to your new font name
4. reboot

To download this font installer utility, or to learn more about it click here (you must be registered there as a user, to be able to download it; no registrion = no download, but registration is free).

Bravo Mr Magoo! Many people were waiting for some way to change default font in smartphone already for a long time...
