SMARTLocator - BETA 2 released - the first location based services application for Microsoft smartphones improved March 16, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. A couple of months ago, as the first one, we were pre-announcing this program (see here and here for more information and screenshots). Now this program has been released in BETA 2 version. 
Please note: this program is the first in the world (and only) location based application for Microsoft Smartphone! The applications that use Microsoft´s MapPoint Locaton Server (MLS) are just trials that doesn´t work without purchasing extremely costly server software and subscriptions. This program on contrary is for the end users, not only for the enterprises! Latest version adds some interesting new features (the feature that we ourselves were requesting was "panning" that is now also, among others, available): Overview SMARTLocator is the world´s first Location Based Application for the Microsoft SmartPhone platform. It enables you to find out your location anywhere in the UK, providing detailed zoomable maps. You can also locate your ´Buddys´ too - as well as view ´My Nearest´ points of interest - all without the expense of a GPS! Features
