CeBIT 2004 news: LG SC8000 - a Pocket PC phone for CDMA networks March 21, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By anonymous 1. The LG SC8000 is a fantastic phone - built-in 1.1 megapixel camera, built-in GPS, and a keypad that retracts like in Nokia 7650. Despite the fact, that some websites try to gather publicity by again producing false information, that this phone will be the HP iPAQ 6300 rebranded by HP from LG, in reality this phone is for Korea only and it will not be available in USA or Europe. Below we present some original photos of this phone, some of them with Orange SPV e200 - for the comparison's sake. But first let us take a closer look at LG SC800 with an open keypad:
Here is the phone but this time together with Orange SPV e200, so that you can get idea about the size of the LG SC8000 phone:
While talking with Korean guy, who was presenting the phone, we have found out that Korean users, who have service subscription in Korea, can go to USA and use this phone in USA with international roaming service (USA, similarly as Korea, has some CDMA networks). The guy also mentioned that GSM version of this phone may be developed around the end of this year, but the CDMA version is not going to be sold in USA (in Europe there is no CDMA networks, so it doesn't make sense anyway).
