HTC Attacks Freedom of the Press March 31, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. Maggie Cheng (
We have a policy not to publish e-mails on the Internet so exact wording of their requests will remain hidden to public. However we woulld like to deny some claims, like this one about our bias against some specific companies... Many users complain about Orange SPV e200 and other HTC made smartphones, about such things as a very bad implementation of Bluetooth (just imagine how stressful it can be when you cannot connect to Internet over Bluetooth from your Pocket PC or notebook - if you own HTC made smartphone), very big drainage of battery (short battery life) and poor quality of voice calls. At the same time Motorola MPx200 made by Chi Mei Communications in Taiwan has much better battery life and quality of voice calls. We would like therefore dismiss any claims that msmobiles.com has any "anti-HTC" bias. As a matter of fact we are representing interests of end users of Microsoft powered cell phones - not even interests of Microsoft, not even interests of hardware vendors that make such phones, neither interests of software developers for these phones. Why? Because at the end acceptation of these phones by end users will be deciding factor for long-term success or failure of Microsoft powered cell phones. Maggie Cheng ( * * * * * At this moment we would like to pre-announce upcoming second part of our Rethinking needed story: "part 2 of 2: shake-up of Microsoft camp in progress - whether you want it or not" - this story will reveal further information about HTC and other issues related to Microsoft´s entry to cell phone industry and will try to ignite better understanding of what is yet needed for Microsoft to succeed massively in cell phone industry. It will be published after April 2, 2004.
