This is not information known to broader public but it is a fact: Microsoft treats HTC like a holy cow! HTC gets as the first all software updates and is treated in preferred way by Microsoft.

Well, HTC was the first hardware manufacturer, that was producing MS Smartphones (and previously also first mass market Pocket PC phones - the old XDA), but now after Motorola´s entrance into arena of MS powered cell phones it looks like future of HTC uncertain... but in meantime HTC still has excellent financial results:

Taoyuan, Taiwan, R.O.C. Apr. 9, 2004 ¡V High Tech Computer Corp. (TAIEX: 2498) today announced that total revenues for March 2004 reached NT$ 2,422 million, while total revenues from January to March 2004 were NT$ 6,886 million.

There are some rumors circling that HTC is about to release Orange SPV e600 phone in summer this year, but we must say that without solving short battery life problems and without providing reliable Bluetooth profiles, in view of strong competition from Motorola, future of HTC is doubtful...
