User Guide: how to use Microsoft Smartphone as GPRS modem over Bluetooth for Pocket PC April 19, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. This guide contains 26 (!) screen shots both from Pocket PC and from MS Smartphone and it contains descriptions, that may be useful for you if you have a Pocket PC with Bluetooth and you would like to use your MS Smartphone with Bluetooth just as "dummy IP pipe" to Internet. Yes, originally MS Smartphone is designed in this way that you actually don't need any other PDA (because PDA is built-in into MS Smartphone) but some people like to use Pocket PC PDAs and for them this guide may be helpful. The author writes among others: In this article we show how to configure and use your i-mate Smartphone2 as a GPRS modem for your iPAQ Pocket PC over Bluetooth. The Windows Mobile Smartphone based i-mate Smartphone2 is also known as XPhone or SPV E200 in other markets. To make this guide we used a HP iPAQ h4150 (Windows Mobile 2003) as the client. This procedure should work with any other Bluetooth enabled Pocket PC, providing that basic service discovery is available from the Bluetooth stack. To view this Bluetooth guide click here.
