Eclipse: First Wave - new game for Microsoft smartphone released
April 19, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1.

Jonathan Smith, who is active as a moderator at MoDaCo forum under the name "Midnight" designed graphics for the new game entitled "Eclipse: First Wave" and his friend has done programming:

192

Unfortunately their Kumite game - that was supposed to be the first Bluetooth multiplayer game for Microsoft smartphone - still remains "under development"... and instead they have released the "Eclipse" game (without Bluetooth).

The developer describes this game in this way:

Eclipse: First Wave is the the first in a series of three high octane shoot-em-upīs, inspired by years of classic arcade shooter action, and now updated to use the strengths of the Microsoft platform to bring the most stunning Smartphone game to date. Pilot one of two different ships through wave after wave of enemies, across 7 varied levels through space and across landscapes.

Features
  • Microsoft Smartphone 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003 compatible
  • 7 Levels of fast arcade action
  • 2 Different ship types
  • Upgradable Weapons (cannon, bomb, shield, speed)
  • Over 40 different animated enemy types
  • Particles, Weather and other special FX
  • 16bit graphics
  • Full stereo music, sound effects and speech
  • Rumble Mode
To buy this game (price: $12.99 and no free trial version available!) click here.

Please note: "Eclipse" is also a name of the most popupular in the world Java IDE (Integrated Development Environment) - known to many Java developers in the world - but probably the name of this game has nothing to do with the Java Eclipse...
