Microsoft to release its own games for Pocket PC and Microsoft Smartphone April 30, 2004 [General] | By anonymous 1. Apparently Microsoft thinks, that existing developers are unable to bring appealing games to Windows Mobile devices! So why not to bring out some quality Microsoft-own games for these 2 Windows Mobile platforms? Some software developers of games for Windows Mobile will go bankrupt, but Microsoft doesn´t care about ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) so be it. Among the titles being released for Microsoft Smartphone and Pocket PC platforms are handheld versions of Microsoft´s Midtown Madness, RallySport and Age of ... titles which are already popular titles on the PC and Xbox platforms. The port to Pocket PC of Age of Empires has already been released. The next important step towards better gaming on handheld devices is in D3DM, an implementation of Microsoft?s own Direct X, but customised for the Windows Mobile platform. To read more click here
