Flash player for Microsoft Smartphone May 06, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By anonymous 1. It is available already (!) on some models and coming in July 2004 to other models.
What is "Flash player"? It is a player that can execute programs (some people call them "multimedia presentations" and yet other people call t hem "Flash animations") written in special Flash format. Having Flash player for Microsoft smartphone can become big breakthrough for this platform because "Flash animations" are actually scalable (in most cases it is vector graphics, not bitmaps!) and available in big amounts everywhere (many online games that run inside of regular Internet browser in PC are based on Flash technology)... No, unfortunately the creator of Flash - the Macromedia company still hasn't released a Flash player for Microsoft smartphone, but another company relesed similar player for Dopod 515 already (see here for related story). What is it? It is so called "Mobiclip" - a program that can run "*.mo" files. With help of a converter one can convert also Flash file format *.swf to *.mo format and use it in Microsoft Smartphone!!! To read more about Mobiclip click here. According to German Smartphone-Web.com website since July 2004 the Mobiclip player will be also available for other Microsoft smartphones: Orange SPV, Orange SPV E100, Orange SPV E200, MiTAC Mio8380, Samsung i-600, Motorola MPx200. Despite the fact that former marketing chief of Microsoft mobile devision now works for Macromedia (the creator and owner of Flash technology) we still don't have official Flash player for Microsoft smartphone, so this 3rd part solution in the form of Mobiclip player can be a good substitute...
