We launch new section: mobile PCs : Tablet PC, mini-PC (powered by Windows XP) May 11, 2004 [mobile PCs (Tablet PC, mini-PC, ...)] | By Edward J. R. While some other websites would lie to you and would like to convince you that Pocket PC is a fantastic device (what indeed is true - for some purposes - yet for a couple of months) we however prefer to reveal to you the truth: the death of Pocket PC is near and it will be replaced by a combination of a smartphone (possibly Microsoft Smartphone) and a mobile PC (Tablet PC or mini-PC):
... so in order to ensure, that you will be informed objectively about all Microsoft powered mobile devices if you continue reading msmobiles.com we are hereby adding new section devoted to mobile PCs : Tablet PC, mini-PC (powered by Windows XP). Please note: Microsoft powered cellphones remain main topic and main focus of our website despite the fact that we will be covering also topics related to mobile PCs! Why not only about Tablet PC devices? Because... ... because clearly several vendors of mini-PC devices like OQO or Sony decided not to use Windows XP Tablet PC edition operating system but just a regular Windows XP operating system together with some pen or stylus additions. What is Tablet PC? Tablet PC is a notebook-like device with a digitizer (not stylus) so that user can put his hand on the display without being afraid that the hand will act as a stylus. Tablet PC is a device that meets specific hardware requirements imposed by Microsoft - for example special hardware buttons (see picture above under the display). We invite you hereby to read msmobiles.com regularly to get objective and complete coverage of Microsoft mobile devices! Please note: Pocket PC is powered by Windows CE operating system, but mobile PCs (Tablet PC or mini-PCs) are powered by real Windows XP operating system so you can run all applications to which you get used while using Windows XP at your desktop PC! So you can clearly see how limited and outdated device the Pocket PC PDA is!
