MSDN Smart Client Developer Center has launched June 08, 2004 [General] | By Edward J. R. It looks like Microsoft promotes now new buzz word : "Smart Client" and it encompasses also software running inside of Windows Mobile devices! 
What the heck are these "Smart Clients"? In a nutshell Smart Clients take advantage of XML to combine the reach of the internet with the power of local computing hardware. ... or in other words something between rich clients (stand alone application) and web client (server side application with access through browser).
