TechEd 2004 Europe news : Microsoft recruits individuals for the MVP award June 28, 2004 [General] | By Edward J. R. Each delegate of the TechEd 2004 Europe conference received this leaflet:
... where you can even suggest yourself! Here is the quote from the leaflet: Do you know someone who should receive the MVP award? Microsoft is interested in your suggestions of individuals who should be considered for the MVP award. If you would like to refer yourself or someone else who is making strong contributions in an online or offline peer-to-peer community, please let us know. Send your referral to mvpga@microsoft.com. Your e-mail must include the nominee's name, technical area of expertise, and the name of the specific technical community (list serve, newsgroup, user group) or industry forum (speaker, author) in which he or she is most active and helpeful. For more information about the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award, please visit: www.microsoft.com/mvp. The above mentioned MVP awards are not only for Windows Mobile activists but for all those who help users of Microsoft products. It is however worthwhile to notice, that neither Symbian nor Nokia doesn't have such cunning schema like Microsoft's MVP awards... so what does it mean? It means that if you buy a cell phone powered by Microsoft software (like Pocket PC phone or Microsoft Smartphone) then you can expect huge support, not only from network operators, cell phone manufacturers and Microsoft employees but also from big army of MVP -awarded activists. Can you dig it, Symbian? We don't think so...
