TechEd 2004 Europe news : Motorola MPx220 in which color to chose? Comparative photos of MPx220 in both colors ! June 29, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. OK, so now you decided to buy Motorola MPx220 but still there is one doubt that remains: which color to chose? Silver metallic or black? In this story we are showing photos of Motorola MPx220 phones of both colors and from all possible angles... are decision is: silver metallic looks very cools and is the keeper! But when it comes to selection of cell phone everything is very personal and a matter of taste... so take a look at these comparative photos: Firstly when both models are closed one can notice that the black model has artificial "window" that is not there in silver model:
... what makes impression that these are 2 different phones, but these are not! They are the same, just the plastic covering the phone is made differently in both colors. So having silver model you can use it as a mirror, what is not possible with black model. Speaking of black: it is not the same black as in Motorola MPx200, but it is a matt black - viewed from various angles it looks more like red or more like kind of black and actually it is more like dark brown color. The keypad of Motorola MPx220 makes rock solid impression and although the quality of external display in MPx220 is poor (it is STN color display, not TFT color display), the quality of internal display made good impressions on us:
Here you can see the new fad: the mini-SD card slot:
And here is the longish button for regulation of volume:
... that works quite nice - when the flip is closed the value of volume setting is displayed - when changed - on the external display. Here is a take from the back:
... and here from the front where you can see text "Q U A D":
... that means that this phone supports all existing GSM standards: GSM850+GSM1900 for USA and some countries in Americas, and GSM900+GSM1800 for Europe and Asia. All in all the Motorola MPx220 makes solid impression but for some people it seems to be too big and they prefer Orange SPV C500 phone made by HTC, that is extremely smallish and fast, but doesn't feature megapixel camera and flash... Good times are coming for fans of Microsoft smartphone: now customers will have much bigger choice of devices to match their tastes!
