Several distribution channels for Voq smartphone announced
July 06, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
CellStar and Brightpoint in North America (mainly USA), and KPN in Netherlands in EU.
The first 2 are distributors and the third one is an operator. There is no flat rate GPRS in EU, which allow the Voq to shine and that what Voq needs is direct distribution through some US carrier (through carrier's own distribution channels) - there is flat rate mobile Internet access in USA and Voq would really be able to convince many people. All in all: it looks like Voq slowly is finding the way to customers, but since it is targeting enterprise or professional customers, not just consumers, the market success of Voq - the phone without Bluetooth that has only one advantage: full-QWERTY keyboard:
- is far from certain...
Related infos from Sierra Wireless can be found here (CellStar, mainly USA), here (Brightpoint, mainly USA) and here (KPN, Netherlands, EU).
