MPx220 - Videos in 3GP - what does it mean?
July 16, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Lutzh Haedrich.
Have you ever heard about the 3gp video standard before? Most people out there never did and if you have used a Windows powered Smartphone with a camera before you usually recorded your videos in a format your Windows Media Player could play – it seems like this times are over now.
We were communicating this some days ago that we have found 3gp files in the “My Videos”-folder after recording a little movie with the MPx220. It took a while until we found a player that made playing the recorded video on our desktop possible: The Nokia Multimedia Player. We never thought that we will install Nokia software unsolicited but now we had to. To prevent you from doing the same we simply recorded what the Nokia Multimediaplayer showed on our desktop to make you able to watch it in you Windows Media Player. Click here to watch the clip. The little flicker on the start is not related to the recording of the phone. As you can see the 3gp movies are there to be sent as Multimedia Message, that’s why they are small and light.
