Video review : Qtek 9090 (aka T-Mobile MDA III aka Xda 3) - latest Pocket PC phone made by HTC
August 11, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Qtek 9090 has faster processor than HP iPAQ h6315/h6340 Pocket PC phones and features latest operating system: Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, while iPAQ phones still use old version. On top of that many fans of Pocket PC devices are very angry at HP because it refused lately to offer upgrades to Second Edition that brings such important features as native switching of modes - vertical and horizontal. All in all it is Qtek 9090 that in next 3-6 months will be the most powerful Pocket PC phone on the market! So if you are considering to buy a Pocket PC phone in next months, this review may be very useful to you!
This video review includes such things as:
- About box of the phone with information about ROM version, etc
- Wireless LAN Leap dialog
- Using the phone in horizontal and vertical modes and switching between these modes - exclusive feature of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition - not availabe in HP iPAQ phones...
- Using Pocket Word (a stadard application in Pocket PC platform)
- Using retractable full-QWERTY thumb keyboard - typing plus it is shown how it looks like when it is retracted
