168 MHz, not 200 MHz - the processor speed of HP iPAQ Pocket PC phones

HP iPAQ Pocket PC phones - h6340 (Europe) and h6315 (USA) go on sale this month (see below for direct links to online shops of HP), so it may be worth noticing that actually the speed at which these phones are running is not 200 MHz but just 168 MHz!!! Compared to 400 MHz in MDA III/XDA III/Qtek 9090 it looks like a weak performance! Why HP decided to put such a weak processor? It is a lower speed than in C500 and MPx220 Microsoft Smartphones for God's sake !
Why? Because HP wanted to achieve maximally long battery times with the Texas Instruments OMAP 1510 processor - processor that can run up to 200 MHz usually. This is another setback for fans of HP who were considering to buy this phone! After learning that HP iPAQ phones run only outdated Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition - not the latest Second Edition - now we are learning that processor is 168 MHz, not 200 MHz as it was touted in many places. If you take into account that HP previously declined to provide upgrades to Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, it is clear that users who would like to buy HP must carefully consider whether it is not too slow for them (see also our comparison of upcoming Pocket PC phones with built-in Wi-Fi) - particulary because the upcoming Pocket PC phone from HTC - has a processor with speed of 400 MHz...
Here are some examples of national online shops of HP, where you can see that HP iPAQ phones are already available for order!
