Lies, damned lies and iPAQ fans - HP to rebrand a Pocket PC phone from Korean LG? August 17, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. HP corporation takes pride in being a real innovative company that designs its own products and not just puts its own brand on foreign devices. CEO of HP was even making fun of Dell that Dell only is just a shifter of foreign equipment... so it is strange that now rumors appeared that HP will take one of Pocket PC phones made by LG for Korean market, for CDMA networks there:
... and rebrand it as HP's own product! Well, it seems unlikely and contrary to what HP claims (about being innovative itself, not just a dumb pipe) but when we were talking with LG people during CeBIT 2004 they told us, that... ... that LG itself has no intention whatsoever to bring one of its fancy Pocket PC phones that work in CDMA standard to USA !!! So it seems that if some corporation would like to release an LG-made Pocket PC phone for CDMA networks in USA, then LG would certainly have nothing against it, since it has no intention to do it itself. To read more about this rumor click here. Please note: the rumored Pocket PC phone from LG for CDMA networks - to be rebranded by HP - is supposed not to have built-in Bluetooth ... what makes it in current era of Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth GPS receivers a toy for people who never drive a car...
