Chitchat with Orange about Microsoft Smarpthone phones ... August 27, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. We were previously reporting about a chat with Orange with FAQ session (we presented there even the highlights).
Now the questions and answers have been published, including the one that we have asked: 59=msmobiles. HTC designed and produced C500. What is particular contribution of Orange corporation ? Is it only home screen plug-in? A: Orange has worked with HTC for a number of years and we have contributed to the development of the Industrial design and with in depth Marketing input, as we do with all of our handset suppliers. Example of another interesting question is here: 50=squall2. Word is motorola have a wifi sd card ready. have orange done anytests with wifi sd, can it work and are orange or a third patry intending to release wifi for c500? A: We are not currently testing a WiFi SD card with the C500 To read all questions and answers about Microsoft Smartphone - from the FAQ session with Orange people - click here. Conclusion: Orange takes partial credit for developing HTC Typhoon phone, despite the fact, that it is being sold also as Qtek 8010, i-mate Smartphone 3, etc and despite the fact that it is not an Orange exclusive cell phone. Interestingly Orange apparently is not interested in adding Wi-Fi to Microsoft Smartphone phones! Why? To exploit customers with overly expensive GPRS tariffs...
