Hardware review: Dopod 565 - Chinese smartphone for Chinese market
September 05, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
Dopod 565 is a version of "HTC Typhoon" smartphone (also known as Orange SPV C500) that is being sold in mainland China. Since this phone is made in Taiwan, Chinese consider it to be their native phone...
Here are some highlights from this review (the review is in Chinese and we present highlights in English):
- Dopod 565 uses not only Chinese version of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition operating system, but also it has Chinese keypad
- the Dopod 565 has exactly the same construction as Orange SPV C500, so built-in VGA camera and built-in Bluetooth are the same
- the battery has capacity of 1050 mAh and is made in Japan ("Product of Japan")
- contrary to Orange SPV C500 the phone doesn't have some "operator provided home screen plugin" but uses standard Smartphone home screen design
