Hardware review : Motorola MPx220 September 06, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Are you still in doubt which smartphone to buy: one from HTC (Typhoon or Feeler) or the Motorola MPx220? This interview may help you in this decision. This is a very detailed review made by Howard Chui - a Canadian, who owns one of the biggest forums devoted to variuos cell phones (not just Microsoft powered). This review features several photos and screen shots, but has however one tiny disadvantage: the author is biased, because Howard Chui gets invited to Microsoft's Möbius conferences, where he gets gifts (such as cell phones and PDAs) and traveling and lodging costs - all are covered by Microsoft. Of course he hasn't mentioned this bias in the review... but we are here to reveal such things to you! Some tiny quotes from the review follow. The MPx220 is a nice showcase of what Windows Mobile for Smartphone can do when married with a powerful device. Even running CPU intensive tasks like watching videos or listening to music does the MPx220 run smoothly. However the MPx220 isn't perfect. It's a little on the large side while it's screen is a little on the small side. Also it's camera is absolutely abysmal. Compared with Nokia's Series 60 Smartphone, the MPx220 seems best suited for web browsing while Series 60 excels at imaging and messaging while both seem to be about the same when it comes to phone related functions. Pros:
