Hardware review : Samsung SCH-i600 September 09, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. This phone is on the market already for a long time (over a year), but lately Verizon Wireless, that offers this phone sells it with new operating system (Smartphone 2003; free upgrade for older users available) and in fact it is the only (yet) Microsoft Smartphone for CDMA networks, so if you are living in USA and you like Verizon Wireless carrier then this review (and this phone) may be for you: Its 200 MHz Intel XScale processor gives it a speedy response time. The applications I tried loaded quickly and ran just fine. The i600 come with 32 MB of RAM, which isn't a huge amount. Fortunately, it has an SD/MMC slot that allows you to store additional files and applications on removable memory cards. However, be ready for the fact that Microsoft's smartphone operating system is a relatively new platform. There aren't a huge number of applications available for it, especially when compared with the Palm OS or Pocket PC, Still, more are coming on the market every day. To read this, a bit (!) outdated review click here. While GSM networks in USA are becoming more and more popular, still there are some hard core fans of CDMA, but also they don't have to stay without Microsoft Smartphone...
