Hardware review : T-Mobile SDA - first Microsoft Smartphone from T-Mobile
September 16, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R.
This is one of the first, if not the first, hardware review of the T-Mobile SDA smarpthone that will be available in 2-3 weeks at T-Mobile in Europe.
Unfortunately this review is in German, but since T-Mobile SDA is coming to the market first in Germany, so it is quite natural. It contains however 6 images, 4 of them of high resolution. Here are some highlights from this review:
- author is generally very impressed by this phone, but since he is a Microsoft MVP he may be a bit biased, to put it midlly
- the quality of materials used in production of this phone gives solid impression - it doesn't convey a feeling of being cheap, as some former models made by HTC did
- data transfer over mini-USB is super fast as is whole phone - user interface, applications, etc
- mini-SD card that this phone uses can be exchanged only when buttery is taken away
- T-Mobile SDA offers "Java Apps" from Tao Group Ltd. In other words: a Java virtual machine to run Java midlets. Version of this Java is: MIDP 2.0 V. 10.1.2.19 .
- generally the review is short and not particularly extensive and doesn't contain any worthwhile insight. It is worth seeing only due to the photos.
