Delayed: Orange SPV C500 for developers with worldwide delivery and SIM-unlocked - from official Orange-approved online shop September 17, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Nokia's days must be counted, because demand for latest generation of Microsoft Smartphone cell phones is huge. So huge that due to overly big demand people must wait longer to get them... Previously we have been reporting that Orange SPV C500 with worldwide delivery and SIM-unlocked is available for online purchase. In discussion thread related to this "Orange SPV C500 for developers" people however noticed that although this company is claiming to sell the phone (and thus is taking credit numbers of customers), this company actually doesn't have any units in stock! 
It may well be that T-Mobile SDA smarpthone will go on sale before this "Orange SPV C500 for developers" will become available! Suffice to say that many people are dissapointed with this approach of Orange (after all it is an online shop approved by Orange) and may end up with buying T-Mobile SDA or even T-Mobile SDA Music! Lately this online shop that offers "Orange SPV C500 for developers" has published more information about the delays in deliveries of Orange SPV C500 and also a FAQ about this cell phone: * * * * * 14 September 2004 Dear Customers Thank you for your interest in purchasing an unlocked C500. Due to the very high level of demand for this handset and subsequent manufacturing lead times, we are currently experiencing delays of up to 4 weeks for supply. WHEN WILL PAYMENT BE TAKEN? Payment will be taken upon despatch of goods. WHERE DO I SEND THE HANDSET IF IT IS FAULTY? The handsets are covered by a 12 month warranty but must be returned at your cost to ORA. The handset will be repaired or replaced at the manufacturers discretion. A Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) must be supplied by ORA BEFORE the handset is returned (please contact us at spvdeveloper@ora.co.uk to obtain your RAN). You will need to provide proof of purchase or your original order reference number. CAN THE HANDSET BE RETURNED TO AN ORANGE SHOP? These handsets are certificate and SIM unlocked at the factory and are made available for software developers. They are not available through any retail shops and therefore must be returned to ORA. HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY OF THE HANDSET? Warranty is for 12 months from the date of shipment. WHAT COLOURS ARE THE HANSDETS AVAILABLE IN? Handsets are only available in black, black or black (see images)! IS THE HANDSET SIM FREE? The handsets are supplied SIM free and are not locked to any network. They will work on GSM 900, 1800 and 1900 networks. WHAT IS THE GSM FREQUENCY OF THE HANDSET? The handsets are Tri-Band (GSM 900, 1800 and 1900) and will therefore work on virtually all GSM networks. Please check with you preferred operator before purchase.
