Anti-Microsoft weblog praises Microsoft Smartphone October 14, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. After years of anti-Microsoft blogging, and after years of praising Nokia, now this blogger admits that synching files with Nokia phones is a debacle and that only Microsoft cell phones provide comfort and reliability in this area. If this would not be enough, he notices also that Microsoft Smartphone beats Nokia smartphones in size, price, in everything: AT&T Wireless just launched the Windows Powered C500 which has everything you'd want in a smartphone, and it's small as hell, for a few hundred dollars less than my Nokia. This is Very Annoying. While Microsoft provides very comfortable and reliable "Microsoft ActiveSync" technology, the PC synchronization software from Nokia is just one big debacle: By making syncing "just work" Microsoft has enabled their Windows Mobile phones to become a player in this new Podcasting medium. Automagically. And today. Those of us struggling with other less capable syncing devices - i.e. all Nokia phones - can just look on in wonder at the new technology that's passing us by because most phone manufacturers fail to get the importance of basic syncing technology.
