T-Mobile SDA is partially locked with registry lock October 18, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Now that T-Mobile SDA smartphone is available commercially on the streets in regular T-Mobile shops (called there "T-Punkt"), users have opportunity to use production units, not some prototypes... and what have they discovered? That it is registry locked! In other words: in T-Mobile SDA it is impossible to change some parts of registry, so several programs are not working at all or are not working fully... it is thus impossible to switch off ClearType in T-Mobile SDA and many other tweaks are also imposible. Apparently some hobbyists have already found solution how to evade this problem of registry lock in T-Mobile SDA but nothing definitive is published yet - they are waiting for permission to release it. If a solution will be published somewhere we will let you know - just watch this space... Conclusions: for many many people knowing that T-Mobile SDA is registry locked (it's not SIM locked though), and registry locked without the possibility to unlock it (yet), means that they will not buy it at all! That instead they will go for i-mate SP3 or Orange SPV C500... and while other websites and sources are intentionally hiding this information from you - not we - we present it to you, so that you can take more informed buying decisions!
