Pocket PC phone - the best Wi-Fi phone on the planet October 19, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. The first Pocket PC phones with built-in Wi-Fi: HP iPAQ h6315/h6340 and HTC Blue Angel (aka "T-Mobile MDA III", "Xda 3", i-mate PDA2K, ...) - are already on the market and avaialble for purchase for everybody. And very soon the ultra-cool Motorola MPx - another Pocket PC phone with built-in Wi-Fi is coming. These are all very expensive gadgets. So to recoup your investment you can use them as Wi-Fi phones - so that you can call everywhere for FREE! (courtesy of Phillip Torrone) This service works also fine with regular, non-phone, Pocket PC PDAs with built-in Wi-Fi, but Pocket PC phones are particularly well suited for this purpose because they already have especially designed (for phone calls) speaker and microphone... for the folks out there who use the Vonage Voice Over IP (VOIP) service and happen to have a Pocket PC device with WiFi. We’re going to show you how to turn just about any Pocket PC PDA device in to a real telephone with a working telephone number. At the end of this, we’re also going to post our phone number so you can test it out (it might be a long distance call for you).
