Smartner introduces the first push email solution for Orange smartphones

Smartner, the European leader for mobile email and office solutions, announced the availability of its Duality real-time mobile email solution for Orange smartphones. Smartner Duality supports the full range of Orange smartphones including the newest, SPV C500. Orange SPV smartphones run on Microsoft Windows Mobile software and offer the power of a mini-computer in the form of a pocket-sized mobile phone.

“Smartner Duality is designed to help mobile professionals increase their work efficiency and customer responsiveness while maintaining the total costs of ownership to a minimum,” says Paul Hedman, CEO of Smartner. “With the support for Orange Smartphones, these benefits of mobile communications are available for 45 million Orange customers around the world.”

Smartner Duality enables over-the-air access to Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or personal emails from users’ favourite smartphone or PDA with a very comfortable user experience and end-to-end security. With real-time push technology, there's no need for synchronization. There are no delays in getting the latest information and acting on it.

Differentiating from Blackberry, Smartner Duality enables users to choose among a broad range of various devices. For example, you can choose a sleek phone like C500 or a full-fledged PDA like M1000. With a wide-range of supported mobile devices, Smartner Duality is quickly becoming the de-facto standard for real time mobile email.

“Remote email access is a critical application for businesses and it’s great to see Smartner continue to bring value and innovation to the Windows Mobile platform in this key segment of the market,” said Hardy Poppinga, Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Devices Division, Microsoft Corp. “Smartner’s Duality solution further complements the power and extensibility of Windows Mobile with an easy-to-use, intuitive push email solution that brings instant productivity to mobile professionals.”

Solution Availability

Smartner Duality is available in three downloadable formats:

1) Professional Edition gives a very affordable mobile access to Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes to mobile professionals.

2) Enterprise Edition is ideal for enterprise-wide deployment of always-on mail functionality giving full control of the application to the IT managers.

3) Internet Edition makes it easy for employees to receive POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail on their mobile devices without complicated procedures.
