Hardware Review: Audiovox SMT 5600 Microsoft Smartphone October 22, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Audiovox SMT 5600 Smartphone looks exactly the same as Orange SPV C500 but has different logo over the display. While there were many reviews of Orange SPV C500, this seems to be one of the first reviews of Audiovox SMT 5600! This review contains 9 photos + 8 screen shots.
Owners of Orange SPV C500 are pretty much stuck with old, clumsy, Windows Media Player 9, but happy owners of Audiovox SMT 5600 can enjoy the very much improved Windows Media Player 10 Mobile! In this review we can even observe some screen shots of this new version! Bluetooth functionality seems to be about what one would expect. It took me some time to figure out how to ActiveSync over Bluetooth, but now that it works it seems to work well. You are not able to play media through a Bluetooth headset, at least not through Windows Media Player. The whole Bluetooth interface seemed somewhat unpolished to me, and the user has very little control over Bluetooth devices within the OS. The Audiovox SMT 5600 offers a great combination of functionality and expandability. It’s a speed demon, and has a wide variety of business and entertainment functions.
