More information about upcoming Samsung i640 / i645 revealed - Look Ma, it has even snap-on thumb keyboard ! November 11, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Well, this smartphone works only with CDMA networks (not GSM) and has no Bluetooth but it supports EV-DO (much faster downloads - like 3G) and a snap-on keyboard (thumb keyboard) will be available as accessory! Snap-on keyboard ! Wow. Why can't any other Microsoft Smartphone manufacturer come up with something like that? Apparently having a cell phone made by Samsung is very much worthwhile because you are getting then such cool (and branded!) accessories! EV-DO will allow the i640 to download files and email attachments very quickly. And thanks to the standard Windows Media Player that comes with all Windows Mobile devices, the phone will also be able to access high-quality live streaming video and audio from a variety of sources. High-quality music downloads will also be possible. The i645 variant (shown in the photos above) adds a megapixel camera with LED flash. The i640 version is camera-less, which should appeal to business users who have to deal with no-camera policies in the office. The two versions are otherwise the same.
