Not everybody is a sponger November 12, 2004 [General] | By Edward J. R. Previously we have written about upcoming Mobius 2004 USA conference (to be precise: Möbius 2004 USA). Now we have got interesting information from one of the invitees ... Peter Rojas, who is an owner of the distinguished Engadget.com website, has informed us, that he accepted Microsoft's invitation to this conference, but in fact Microsoft is not paying for his participation in Mobius 2004. Actually Engadget.com is paying for all costs - airfare and accomodation. Thus Microsoft is not investing in his participation in Mobius 2004 and thus he can preserve impartiality of the Engadget.com website! Please note however, that illustrious Peter Rojas is an exception: most participants of this conference get travel and lodging paid by Microsoft fully. Just for the record: we at msmobiles.com have offered Microsoft to cover all costs by ourself (zero costs by Microsoft) if only we would be invited to come to the Mobius 2004. Suffice to say: Microsoft has declined clearly. Obviously Microsoft has problems with open discussion, and people who dare to tell everything without hiding the problems, are not welcome. Apparently Microsoft's openness to the blogosphere is only superficial - just a show for the public.
