Hardware review: i-mate PDA2k - a Pocket PC phone with Wi-Fi November 18, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. While pretending to be anti-Microsoft in fact The Register website is to a big extend promoting Microsoft products. In this review The Register reviews HTC Blue Angel (branded as i-mate PDA2k, MDA III, etc) and purposefully omits some disadvantages of this phone (like outdated processor - PXA263, not contemporary PXA270). Why is The Register on purpose falsifying a review and presenting some product better than it really is? The answer is simple: ... because The Register has business relationship with Expansys.com (online shop that sells i-mate PDA2k) and with this phone they both are getting good profits! Hereby therefore we have a final proof that The Register is not to be trusted: because not only they are biased, not only they falsely pretend to be anti-Microsoft, but because they have some business relationships that influence their reviews and that they don't reveal explicitly! i-mate's PDA 2k is essentially the standard Blue Angel. The networks' versions, such as the XDA IIs, will be more closely tailored to their own brands and undoubtedly offer alternative software components. But beneath them the hardware should be uniform across the line-up. However it's labelled, then, Blue Angel represents probably the best-designed PocketPC phone around To read the review click here.
