Orange SPV M2000 Pocket PC phone is on sale November 26, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. European operator "Orange", active among others in France, UK, Netherlands and Switzerland, was known by now as the pioneer in Microsoft Smartphones, but Microosft powered cellphones must be very successful there, because they decided to sell also Pocket PC phones (Pocket PC = big brother of Microsoft Smartphone)! The model name is "HTC Blue Angel", it is branded as "Orange SPV M2000" and contrary to Microsoft Smartphone, it is directed clearly at the business customers:
Microsoft Smartphone is directed at everybody and is much cheaper but this Pocket PC phone has also built-in Wi-Fi and full QWERTY keyboard and also due to a bit bigger size and price it is not a telephone for everybody. This phone is not available without GSM subscription - you must buy it with some tariff and prices vary depending on which tariff you chose. Contrary to T-Mobile Europe that sells all their T-Mobile branded phones also without subscription and without SIM locking, the Orange operator is more sensitive in this respect and prefers to sell SIM locked phones and only to owners of their SIM cards. This phone is available on "pay monthly" only and rumors by some websites about availability of this phone as "pay-as-you-go" (i.e. pre-paid) are incorrect. Related links:
