Dream becomes reality : SDIO Wi-Fi drivers for Microsoft Smartphone are available December 03, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. We can reveal you a secret. Already couple months ago we had drivers for Wi-Fi for Microsoft Smartphone in our hands. There were however some problems with them and practically speaking they were not working. Now it looks like a working version of these BETA drivers is available!
SDIO Wi-Fi cards both from Socket (see image above) and SanDisk are working fine with these drivers - because they both use hardware designs from SyChip company, that made also these drivers. To read more, including screen shots from MS Smarthone with Wi-Fi configuration dialogs, albeit in German, click here. Please note: if you have some latest MS Smartphone like C500/STM5600 or MPx220 then you obviously can't use these drivers because these phones have mini-SD card slot - not usable for full-size SDIO Wi-Fi cards. There are no mini-SD Wi-Fi cards and there will never be.
