Unofficial Flash player for Microsoft Smartphone released - FlashHack ! December 08, 2004 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. It is not official release from Macromedia but "just" a hack, but it works!!! Now you can play Flash presentations - *.SWF files - in your Microsoft Smartphone! Please note: it is completely legal. Max from gamesforsmartphones.co.uk writes: using only a free microsoft.com download and an also-free user interface program I've built, FlashHack, you can finally run SWFs file on Smartphone, in stand-alone mode! Sound, animation, keypresses and joystick support are all proven working in Flash, and the various Flash options such as High/Low Quality, Zoom In/Out and Full-Screen Mode are available via FlashHack. A quote from readme.txt: This product is beta freeware and may hard-reset your phone or worse, although it is unlikely to do so. You use this program at your own risk. This program does not contain any copyrighted code and cannot run Macromedia Flash files. However, if you run a PocketPC executable, you can play SWF files on a smartphone. Unfortunately you cannot press the "Show All" button to zoom out to see the whole SWF file. Load up an SWF, then press HOME and load up FlashHack. Press 1 to let FlashHack find the Flash window. Once it's done so, you can use the various commands. Simply press # (hash) to toggle between Flash and FlashHack. You can use HOME to escape the SWF playback and return to the home screen. Note 1: you must have a legal copy of the Macromedia Flash player to use this file. The author cannot help you obtain this file; please do not contact gamesforsmartphones.com regarding obtaining the file as your email will be ignored. Note 2: your executable must be named "Beta Macromedia Flash.exe" - any other file name will not work.
