December 12, 2004 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Strangely it is not available for MDA I and for MDA III yet, but it looks like T-Mobile will be offering it soon too. BlackBerry Client Release 2.0 (the name of this software) has following features:
- sending and receiving e-mails through a company e-mail account
- sending and receiving e-mails of any size
- "auto more" functionality for e-mails of very big size
- e-mail synchronization with PC (Read/Unread, Delete, Move)
- adding and downloading attachments of size till about 30 KB (ZIP files are not supported)
- Attachment Rendering - attachments of any size will be represented in text form, reading of standard attachments like texts and tables
- mobile calendar synchronization
- searching for entries in company phone book
- end-to-end encryption
- support both for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino in backend of customers
To download this BlackBerry software, user manuals (in German) or ROM upgrade (may be necessary) click here. Please study installation instructions very carefully before installing.
BlackBerry RIM devices cannot all do all these things that are possible with Windows Mobile, but now (some) Windows Mobile cell phones can do this what BlackBerry devices can do: BlackBerry e-mail push!
