CES 2005: BenQ P50 compared to HTC Magician January 13, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R. HTC Magician is known also as XDA II Mini, i-mate JAM, T-Mobile MDA Compact, etc, and it is one of the best Pocket PC phones now because it is very small and has megapixel cameral and Bluetooth. While visiting CES this year we have spotted BenQ P50, that weighs exactly the same as HTC Magician, also has megapixel camera and Bluetooth, but also features built-in keyboard! BenQ P50 even scored the "Next BIG Thing CES 2005" award in "Cell Phones and Handhelds" category - being there one of finalists. Several high resolution images that compare (soon to be available commercially) BenQ P50 and (now available) HTC Magician follow.
Conclusion: the BenQ P50 is a superb offering and it clearly beats HTC Magician feature-wise. However BenQ P50 will not be as cheap it was expected to be and it will cost approximately 2 times the price of HTC Magician, therefore it looks like it will be too overpriced to really succeed.
