First official information about new mini Pocket PC phone from Orange available: Orange SPV M500 is coming !
February 09, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
This phone is called internally "HTC Magician" and it is already on sale as Qtek S100, i-mate JAM, T-Mobile MDA II and O2 XDA II Mini. Now also Orange decided to release it, albeit with a little bit different externals:
While previously some blurred images of it were available on some unofficial websites, this is the first time when information on this phone appears on an official Orange website, albeit in Dutch - on the website of Orange Netherlands. We can however expect that also Orange in other countries - including UK and France - will start offering it soon.
This fantastic mini Pocket PC phone has only one disadvantage: Wi-Fi is not built-in, but only attachable as SDIO Wi-Fi card. However compared to Nokia 9300 Communicator, that has no Wi-Fi capability at all, it still is very good. Here are some highlights about it, as specified by Orange:
- GSM tri-band
- MMS
- support of Orange World portal
- Bluetooth
- synchronization with Outlook
- Media Player (audio and video)
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- powered by Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition
- RAM memory: 64 MB.
