With introduction of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Microsoft has enabled for the first time possibility to manufacture Windows Mobile devices with higher resolutions:
While there are several Pocket PC devices with increased resolution (VGA = 480x640) on the market already, by now there were no smartphones with increased resolution (QVGA = 240x320)! This year it will change and also users of Microsoft smartphones will be able to enjoy increased resolution. In this news item we present review of latest news about Microsoft smartphones with QVGA displays...
- Orange SPV C550 (CoolSmartPhone.com obtained exclusive shots) is coming to UK and it looks like T-Mobile MDA SDA Music - it features also additional buttons for control of music player, and on top of that it has QVGA display with 65000 colors and megapixel camera. No Wi-Fi. The only available image is not a photo but just a computer generated picture.
- Newgen D2000W is made by Korean company and provides QVGA display, built-in Wi-Fi ( Newgen D2000W will be with Wi-Fi and Newgen D2000 will be without Wi-Fi ) and megapixel camera. Photos of this phone are available and this phone was already presented at 3GSM World Congress 2005 in February 2005.
- There will be also Pocket PC phones (obviously having 320x240 resolution) in format of smartphones (i.e. keypad, clam shell design) like the one from Kineto Wireless. These phones will look like smartphones but will be powered by Pocket PC platform though...
