While previously available in early Beta version (about which, we were reporting long time ago) now iPodderSP has been released in first full version. On top of that an early beta version for Pocket PC is also available...

- Browse and search for new shows in the iPodder directory
- Import and export your subscriptions from and to other aggregators
- Schedule automatic downloads
- Automatically resume partial downloads
- Uses any available internet connection, including ActiveSync pass-thru
- Easily delete old show episodes to save space

Conclusions: unfortunately software vendors, who make RSS/ATOM readers failed to extend them with support for enclosures (i.e. podcasting) and some RSS readers extended feature set to encompass also podcasting but podcasting support there is very weak and shows lack of understanding of podcasting (for example restoring failed downloads at the place where they were interrupted, showing progress of downloads percentually, etc). All in all iPodder SP is a very interesting development however with very limited usage in outside of USA: in USA users have possibility to use flat rate mobile Internet access (for example: for 20 USD monthly a possibility to download files without traffic limits), but outside of USA, including EU and UK, there are no such flat rates and this program is not very usable. Therefore it is very good that Pocket iPodder (yet in beta) is under development - there is much more demand for iPodder for Pocket PC than for Smartphone, because most Pocket PC devices nowadays have either bult-in Wi-Fi or attachable Wi-Fi... Shortly speaking: apparently specialized iPodder programs, specialized in podcasting, are better than generic RSS readers, which treat podcasting as secondary less important feature.
