It pays to use Windows Mobile software in mobile phones - as market share figures for year 2004 prove it!

Market share figures for mobile phone industry for year 2004 has been announced. Mobile phone industry in year 2004 thrived. Interesting observation: those mobile phone manufacturers, that also produce Microsoft powered mobile phones increased their market share, while manufacturers, that use Symbian lost their market share!
In year 2004:
- 674 million mobile phones was sold
- number one: Nokia sold 207 million mobile phones and had market share of 30.7% (down from 34.8% in year 2003)
- number two: Motorola had market share of 15.4% (up from 14.5% in year 2003)
- number three: Samsung had market share of 12.6% (up from 10.5% in year 2003)
- number four: Siemens had market share of 7.2% (down from 8.4% in year 2003)
- number five: LG with market share of 6.3%
- number six: Sony Ericsson with market share of 6.3% (down from fifth place in year 2003)
All in all Nokia, Siemens and Sony Ericsson are losing market share and those companies, that use Microsoft's Windows Mobile software for powering mobile phones: Motorola, LG and Samsung are gaining market share!
