T-Mobile USA stopped selling HP iPAQ h6315 Pocket PC phone
March 24, 2005 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Previoulsy T-Mobile USA was placing big advertisemens of this phone in American press, but now this phone is gone altogether due to problems with this device...
While users still can access support pages of this phone at T-Mobile USA website, this phone is no longer offered for sale due to problems with software. Existing customers of HP iPAQ h6315 can get replacement from T-Mobile USA - they just need to ask for it.
Conclusions: while best Pocket PC PDAs are now offered by Dell, the best Pocket PC phones are those made by HTC and branded by various distributors and operators (like MDA III, Xda IIs, etc). Unfortunately HP fails to deliver any phone that would be convincing - HP iPAQ h6300 series had very slow processor, keyboard attachable (not built-in) and outdated operating system without possibility to upgrade (no Second Edition!). The upcoming next generation of Pocket PC phones from HP looks promising, but HP has made a fundumentally wrong design decision: these upcoming phones use utra-low resolution of just 240x240 pixels. There can be only one conclusion: if you want to buy a Pocket PC phone in year 2005, don't buy devices from HP, search elsewhere...
