For developers: software development for Microsoft Smartphone now possible also with Delphi .NET April 12, 2005 [MS Smartphone] | By Edward J. R. Delphi is a development language and platform (based on Pascal language) that is very highly appreciated by many developers and with Delphi .NET also development of programs for .NET platforms was possible. If you are a Delphi developer then good for news: now you can develop .NET applications not only with C# and Visual Basic .NET as it was previously possible, but also with Delphi .NET :
Ok, so the .NET Compact Framework on PDAs has significant differences from .NET Compact Framework on SmartPhones. SmartPhones don't have a clickable button. When you consider the fact that PDAs have a pointer device (stylus) but SmartPhones do not, this makes sense (how can you click a button without a pointing device?), but it's still another fragmentation factor to make CF development more complicated. [...] Using the Delphi language to build WinForms apps on CF is a sure thing. To learn more click here. Conclusions: by now the only way to write .NET software for mobile devices was with C# or Visual Basic .NET but now it is possible also with Delphi .NET environment, that many developers prefer to use and that is also used in big enterprise applications.
